Since then we have been mentoring youth in academics and sports, helping them in times of family or school difficulties, bringing the community together for local basketball games and celebrations, like Juneteenth. And during the time of COVID getting out the word about wearing masks and being safe. Each year we raise money for sports equipment and school supplies. Now in our late 20’s and early 30’s, we want to really make a big difference and bring all parts of the community together. We became a nonprofit in September of 2020 with the vision of building a community center. This is an exciting time for us. The future presents many possibilities.

Youth Navigating Towards Opportunity is a homegrown community organization that mentors and caters to the needs of young people, who are often below or at poverty level and frequently classified at-risk, in order to provide vital aid and resources, such as school supplies, tutoring, public education, etc., in an attempt to inspire and provide a safe, productive outlet for the youth within our community.
